Overview

GeoCharge ("we", "our", or "us") is an EV charging station map application for Georgia and the surrounding region. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it. We are committed to being transparent and keeping your data safe.

Data We Collect

Data	Details
Email address	Collected when you create an account or sign in with Google. Used to identify your account and send service notifications.
Phone number	Optionally provided by you in the profile screen. Stored as a Georgian mobile number (+995 prefix). Never shared with third parties.
Location	Accessed while the app is in use to center the map on your position and calculate distances to chargers. Not stored on our servers.
Device information	Basic device data (OS version, device model) collected automatically by Firebase for crash reporting and analytics.
Usage data	Anonymous interaction data (screens visited, features used) to help us improve the app. No personally identifiable information is included.
Advertising identifier	For free users, Google AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS) and ad-interaction data to show and measure ads. On iOS this is only used if you allow it via the App Tracking Transparency prompt; otherwise ads are non-personalized.
Purchase history	If you subscribe to GeoCharge Premium, your subscription status is recorded to unlock ad-free access. Payments are processed by Apple and Google — we never receive or store your card details.

Why We Collect It

Account management — to create and secure your GeoCharge account, and allow you to sign in across devices.
App functionality — location is used solely to show nearby chargers and calculate routes. It is never stored or shared.
Service notifications — your email and (optionally) phone number may be used to inform you of important service updates, such as changes to charger availability in your area.
App improvement — anonymous crash reports and usage statistics help us identify and fix bugs and prioritise new features.

Third-Party Services

Firebase (Google) — we use Firebase Authentication for sign-in (email, Google, and Apple) and Cloud Firestore to store your profile data. Data is processed by Google under their Privacy Policy.
Google AdMob — free users are shown ads via Google AdMob, which may collect your advertising identifier, ad-interaction data, and diagnostic data to serve, measure, and (with your consent) personalize ads. This data may be used to track you across other companies' apps and websites. See Google's Advertising policies. Premium subscribers see no ads.
Google Maps / Google Places API — used for the address search feature and navigation links. Queries are sent to Google's servers. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Open Charge Map — international charging station data is fetched from the Open Charge Map public API. No personal data is transmitted.
CartoDB — map tile images are served by CartoDB (CARTO). No personal data is transmitted in tile requests.

Advertising & Tracking

GeoCharge is free and supported by ads served through Google AdMob. On iOS, we ask for your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency before using your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). If you allow tracking, ads may be personalized and your advertising identifier and ad-interaction data may be used to track you across other companies' apps and websites; if you decline, you still see ads, but they are not personalized. You can change this choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Subscribing to GeoCharge Premium removes all ads.

Data Retention

We retain your account data (email, phone number) for as long as your account is active. Anonymous usage and crash data is retained for up to 12 months. Location data is never stored.

Your Rights & Data Deletion

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To delete your account and data:

Delete your account and all associated data directly within the app: Profile → Delete Account. This removes your account and stored data immediately and is irreversible.
Alternatively, email us at geocharge.app@gmail.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and we will process it within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

GeoCharge is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
